Pick Me Up Service

Driving the seriously ill, elderly, needy and disabled to and from medical appointments.

This service is the only one that crosses local government boundaries to take patients to hospitals and doctors outside their areas. We now have 15 volunteer drivers using five vehicles, but the need for more drivers and more vehicles is ever increasing.

Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation Inc are currently picking up the elderly, seriously ill, infirm and those in necessitous circumstances all over Sydney and taking them to hospitals for specialist appointments, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, physiotherapy or any medical related need.

Many elderly and disabled people on pensions are unable to afford the cost of taxies (even with subsidy vouchers) to get to their medical appointments. They are too ill to travel on public transport, even if they are fortunate enough to have family to escort them. This service is constantly under pressure due to an ever increasing number of calls for assistance.

If you would like to apply to use our Pick Me Up Service please fill in the form on the Passenger Request page.

Our Helpers

Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation is committed to minimizing administration costs to ensure that we maximize our contributions to the community. It is our helpers, those volunteers who tirelessly assist us, that enable us to reduce our overheads to a minimum.

Our helpers range from the Sir Roden Cutler Medalists such as Ros Packer, Alan Jones, Bill Moss, students at Sydney Boys High to our volunteers who help deliver the Charity's services, to our sponsors who contribute financially. 'Volunteers don't get paid because they're worthless but because they're priceless'. Without our helpers, The Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation and our services that we deliver to the community would not exist. We are always looking for more helpers and donations and we would welcome you contacting us; no joy can equal the joy of helping others.
